Yilei Hao was born in 1996 in Harbin, China and started to learn piano at the age of 5. As the first Asian pianist who wins the champion of "Giorgos Thymis" International Piano Competition(2017), he performs in different countries, such as the United States, France, Italy, Poland, Greece, Hungary, Denmark etc.. He also played with many well-known Symphony Orchestra all over the world, such as Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Torun Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Dohnanyi Orchestra,  Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen  Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra etc. He won the first prize in 2012 James Mottram International Piano Competition in the Royal Northern College of Music when he was 16 years old. He also did well in 2 top international music events in China:  Shanghai International Piano Competition and Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition. He also won the China Golden Bell Award in 2017. Currently, he is studying at Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing.
